Brooks, Oklahoma: lush green hills, plentiful trees, dirt roads, old brick buildings. The setting of Home Is Where Your Boots Are and its subsequent cohorts is one easily described. But I think to truly “get” a place you have to hit all the senses.

One of my favorite questions an interviewer will ask an author is whether they listen to certain music while writing or if any music has inspired them. My whole-hearted answer is “heck, yes!”. In fact, The MisAdventures of Miss Lilly is littered with scattered bits and pieces of songs that create the backdrop for these stories. Because part of my creative process is to watch music videos, especially country ones (thank you Miss Reba McEntire for the invention of THE story-telling music video!), I want to pay homage to the creatively talented writers/singers/performers.

Each volume of The MisAdventures of Miss Lilly, will have it’s own soundtrack.
